With cream, ham, leeks or bacon it is very good. These and other easy and good ways to enjoy a timeless and delicate first course
Pasta and peas, a great classic that cannot be missed on our table. But like all simple things, it lends itself to many variations ready to confuse ideas. For some it is a vegetarian dish, others cannot imagine it without a few cubes of crispy bacon. For us all are fine and we advise you to take a look at the versions below to find your favorite.
With the cream
A little cooking cream (also in a light version) is what is needed to make the basic recipe even more enjoyable. Lovers of this variation do not mind even a few cubes of cooked ham with which to season the pasta and peas before adding the hot cream.
With leeks
Another tasty recipe is pasta, peas and leeks which are perfect for giving even more character to this first spring. In order not to make everything too strong, it is a good idea to overcook the leeks in a non-stick pan by wetting them with vegetable broth. When cooked, they will then be blended and added to the pasta and peas. If you want to light the dish, finish with a sprinkling of pecorino cheese and a minced black pepper.
With bacon
Smoked or not, bacon is perfect for making this dish special. Brown it well in a pan and add the boiled and drained peas. You will mix this seasoning with pasta, preferably short, then completing it with a sprinkling of grated cheese to taste.
