We need energy! Then you need oats: to start the day with something extra
Oats have been considered for some time the cereal, the one that should never be missing in a balanced diet. Here are 5 sweet recipes for your breakfast.
Porridge
You've heard about it everywhere now because porridge has become the most instagrammata breakfast of the last few months. It is simply a creamy preparation based on oat flakes and milk. It can be hot, but also cold and the beautiful and fun thing is that it is very versatile and can be served in many different ways. Everything you need to know about porridge is written in The detox breakfast: unusual, lean and even greedy. Be careful, though, if you don't like creamy baby food, porridge is not for you!
Granola
Many people prepare breakfast cereals at home with milk or yogurt.
This crunchy and sweet mix is called granola and you can do a little with what you have at home between dried and dehydrated fruit, all kinds of seeds and cereal flakes (rice, oats …). To prepare the granola with oat just mix the oat flakes with mixed nuts such as hazelnuts, almonds and walnuts, seeds (poppy, chia, sesame and sunflower) and dehydrated fruit like apricots, coconut, raisins and figs. Then mix everything with a honey-based syrup (4 tablespoons), hot water (a glass) and seed oil (a spoon) and bake the mixture at 170 ° for about 30 minutes until it becomes crispy.
Oat muffins
You can also add oat flakes in the classic muffin mixture. Use your favorite recipe and then chop a handful of flakes to mix them with the mixture and use another handful to decorate the surface of the muffins. A perfect base for muffins is always the seven jar cake whose ingredients are measured with a 125 gram jar of yogurt.
To prepare the base dough just mix three eggs with three jars of flour, two of sugar, one (low) seed oil and one of whole white yogurt. Obviously to all this add a packet of yeast if you are not using a self-raising flour.
Raw bar with oats
Another super energetic and luscious breakfast are the raw, that is, raw bars made from dates and oat flakes. To prepare them just chop the pitted dates with oat flakes, a handful of almonds or hazelnuts and bitter cocoa. No sugar is needed because the dates are already very sweet. Spread the mixture fairly often inside a mold covered with parchment paper and decorate the surface with oat flakes. Let everything rest in the refrigerator for an hour and then cut out the bars.
Oat smoothie
If at breakfast you prefer to sip something rather than bite bread or biscuits, here is a luscious smoothie perfect for you. It is prepared by blending a banana with oat milk and a handful of oat flakes. Also add powdered cinnamon and decorate the glass (or cup) with other rolled oats. You can also add a pear or an apple or, for a thicker consistency, and chia seeds.
