Grandma's apple pie


The apple pie is the traditional cake, the one that all grandmothers and all mothers do: here's the simple recipe

  • 500 g type 0 flour
  • 300 g sugar
  • 200 g butter
  • 200 g seed oil
  • 100 g starch
  • 100 g milk
  • 10 pcs eggs
  • 9 pcs small apples
  • icing sugar

First of all, soften the butter at room temperature.
Meanwhile mix the oil, sugar and starch and whisk the mixture with electric whisk until it becomes frothy. Then add the eggs, the flour, a little at a time, and finally the milk. Knead the mixture until it becomes smooth and creamy. Peel and thinly slice the apples and add them to the dough, keeping aside about 150 g. Pour the mixture into a hinged cake pan lined with baking paper. Decorate it with the remaining apples, arranging them radially. Bake the cake in the oven at 180 ° C for about 1 hour. Take it out of the oven, let it cool and then turn it out. Sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.
