We know it and you can also agree: Carnival is one of those parties where it is pleasant to eat sugary and tasty sweets, starting with the famous and much-loved small talk. But, given that the opportunity is delicious and that we always like to experiment with new flavors, looking for tasty and unusual recipes to prepare in these days of great celebrations is a bit 'our mission. And since we wanted to give to Carnival a totally new taste, we thought to bet on a pinch of salt and to choose ten savory recipes to try at Carnival.

It's about a top ten that allows us to try unexpected and creative recipes or to explore the culinary traditions of the different Italian regions, to discover dishes that base their roots in typical characteristics handed down over time. As in the case of Maternal rafanata, typical specialty of the province of Matera, also common in the Potentino area, similar to an oven-baked omelette: the mixture is made of boiled and crushed potatoes, grated pecorino cheese and horseradish. Here's the tasty one Carnival focaccia salentina, better known as Fucazza de carnuale salentina: it is a salty cake to be served lukewarm, with a filling of pork loin, onion, tomatoes and cheeses.

There focaccia rolled up in Sicily it is called sfigghiulata, in Campania tortano: it is served as a bread and can serve as an appetizer, a slice of the buffet, a snack or a snack.

For the delicacies to eat almost in a mouthful, one by one, you can indulge yourself: the delicious cream puffs stuffed with artichokes, first salt and anchovies are fried and served hot; the polenta bars, of peasant origin and also fried, are served just drained, along with the growth, in a pleasant contrast of heat and cold; the balls with mixed herbs they are typical frites of the Ligurian area, very aromatic (with the scent of marjoram, mint and rosemary) to be served as an aperitif. THE balls of prawns they are the most cheerful way to make vegetables eat even the smallest: the shrimp tails are wrapped in strips of zucchini and carrots battered and then fried. Sprinkled with a pinch of curry mixed with salt are super appetizing.

The crispy pastry with vegetables and cheese they are perfect for a carnival party, for a cheerful buffet or for an aperitif.
