Tram Tram, the "stop" in Milan where you can eat Roman – Italian Cuisine

Take the tram in Milan and stop for a moment in Rome. Here is the Roman cuisine (at home), for a break from the usual "tram tram"

In the middle of Milan, a few steps from the Bastioni di Porta Venezia, there is a place to stop for a moment.
It almost feels like entering a private home and this is the intent of the owner and founder of the restaurant, Francesco d’Argenzio, accompanied by his life partner Consuelo Ogueta, which deals with the artistic direction.
Roman and now Milanese by adoption, Francesco is a film director, but he has always had a great passion for food. «Cooking is almost like directing. You have to manage the ingredients and flavors to prepare a successful dish .

Why is it called Tram Tram – Stop with kitchen? The restaurant is located in via Lazzaretto, the street along which passes one of the historic trams of Milan, number 1. Those there from the 1920s, still as impressive today as they once were. And with this play on words we are also invited to detach ourselves for a moment from the usual "tram tram" of the hectic life of every day, to savor the taste and atmosphere of home. And it's not just an aesthetic question.

The restaurant hosts the works of friends and neighbors in the neighborhood, meetings made by chance, where the passion forart has resulted in wonderful collaborations. Small events and exhibitions, music evenings, in a place to meet up with friends. Last but not least, i volumes of La Cucina Italiana in plain sight on one of the bookstores that furnish the place: a sign that the tradition for the gastronomic culture of our country is well rooted.

The kitchen, led by the chef Maureen Mann, second partner of the restaurant and passionate about furnishings, and the young chef Pietro Perrotti, is the Roman one: lamb, coda alla vaccinara, chicory, puntarelle and so on. But not only. Although the mythical tonnarelli with cheese and pepper they will certainly never disappear from the menu, every month you can also find numerous ideas that are not strictly classic. Because typical cuisine is not only made up of iconic dishes, but also of attitude. It shows in the way they are treated seasonal ingredients, like the artichokes that do not appear on the menu except when they are more good. It can be seen from the love for mom's cooking di Francesco, who brings home-made specialties, such as bitter orange marmalade, directly from Rome. There is no shortage of surprises off the menu, perhaps born from last-minute inspiration, or interesting forays to never tire the visitors.

From Tram Tram you can stop during the lunch break (with dedicated menus), for one appetizer under the banner of selected and organic wines and, of course, at dinner, to savor the good Roman cuisine.
