1. Conservation
The distillates must be preserved a room temperature, making sure the bottles are not exposed to sunlight. Prolonged exposure to heat and UV rays would end up accelerating the oxidation process.
It is also important that the bottles are upright, to prevent the liquid from coming into contact with the cap, thus promoting oxidation.
2. Freezer: yes or no?
Many like to keep liqueurs and bitters in the freezer: no problem, because alcohol does not freeze, unlike wine and beer. It would be better, however, not to do it with spirits such as gin, vodka and tequila. In this case, put them in the freezer only a few hours before use.
3. What about ice?
To best enjoy liqueurs and spirits on the rocks, first add 4-5 ice cubes to the glass, then pour the alcohol and mix. To keep the drink cool, use a stemmed goblet so that your hand does not heat the contents.
