The secret of Santa's cookies

The stories under the tree. We all have a secret memory of the holidays from when we were children. Here is that of the son of Santa Claus! For you one of the stories of our editorial staff taken from the December issue

I won't tell you that my mother is the Befana, it wouldn't be nice. But I swear to you that my father is Santa Claus and his mom, my grandmother, an exceptional cook. In truth, I tell you, she is only good at making Santa Claus cookies, to make her son happy: what not to do for children! Every morning my grandmother prepares Santa's cookies for Santa Claus. It was also Ferragosto, Easter, Carnival or Halloween. Because the ones you leave under the tree, my father really doesn't like them. Except that they are almost always bought at the supermarket, and this to Santa Claus, my dear, is not done. But even when you prepare them, with love, patience, dedication … Ok, I'll tell you a secret, but swear not to post it on Facebook: Santa Claus is one with difficult tastes. A squeamish, as my mother says.
Uh, poor mom! Sometimes it drives her crazy: and the steak no, and the carrots no, and the soup no, and the strawberry ice cream no, and the pizza no, and the french fries no, and the pasta with sauce no … Ah, but pasta in white yes: he loves it! And he loves white bread: the undercooked one, to understand. And then he's crazy about whipped cream: uh, I have to hide it in my bedroom if I want to eat some! He goes crazy for milk, meringues, white chocolate, sugar cubes and coarse salt grains. For white cheeses (mozzarella, brie, goat cheese … oh well, those) he might even forget to bring you gifts! In short, as long as it is white, everything is fine. I call it the "snow syndrome" and it makes Mom laugh so much.
I know what you are wondering: and are the cookies that Grandma makes all white? What do I tell you to do! Of course!

The reason why I tell you all this is that during the Christmas holidays I would like to sleep a little more. And you could give me a hand. Yes, because every morning, when the reindeer all start yelling in chorus (a sound like the bleating of the sheep, but more strangled, a sound that goes something like this: Aaaauuuiiigh) grandma drags me out of bed, takes me to the kitchen and we prepare Santa's cookies. Outside it is night and the snow falls thick and I am cold and I would love to sleep again.
Here, if you learned to make the cookies that my dad likes so much, at least in those 15 days of celebration I could stay under the covers. Santa Claus would find his favorite cookies under your decorated trees and he would be full and happy. And grandmother could also rest for a while.

In short, my dear, I count on you!

Ingredients for four Santa Claus cookies

8 kg of fresh snow, if it is powdery and crumbly snow (mountain snow), or 4 kg if it is city snow, which is usually much wetter and heavier, but easier to mix; 25 egg whites beaten until stiff; 146 sugar cubes; 7 mozzarella and all the white cheeses you have at home; 12 kg of white chocolate in 2 cm chunks per side; 23 kg of flour 00; 5 kg of butter cut into pyramids; 27 liters of whole milk; 15 liters of whipped cream inside out; 3 grains of coarse salt cut into thin strips.

Method

Throw everything into a huge planetary mixer and blend for the time it takes to repeat this rhyme seven times:

Who does it for himself
serves as a king
who is crazy
is a friend of the cat
loves plants and every animal
ready is Santa's cookie.

Good. At this point, at the bottom of the planeatria you will find a small amount of creamy paste. You work it with your hands and prepare four Santa Claus-shaped cookies. Let it rest for the time to repeat the rhyme three times and then blow on it. Cool, huh! Here, the cookies are now ready to finish under the tree. With a glass of cold milk, I recommend!
