To celebrate 100 years of activity, the historic Palermo coffee maker Morettino launches the new online shop and presents a limited edition box dedicated to the Paladins of the Opera dei Pupi. A symbolic gesture to support the economic recovery of Sicily through the promotion of the millennial culture of the island
The work of the puppets and coffee, two symbols of Sicilian culture in the world through which Morettino wants to celebrate its centenary (1920-2020). Orlando, Rinaldo is Angelica – protagonists of the Opera dei Pupi, the famous theatrical performance recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity – are the names chosen by the historic Palermo roasting company for the new Sicily Boutique Gift Box: each contains a precious gift made up of a mocha, an invitation to rediscover the gestures of an ancient all-Italian ritual, and a colorful tin decorated like Sicilian carts, containing a special blend of artisan coffee created by the master roasters of Morettino and toasted slowly.
To create these original packages, the Morettino family, which has always been committed to promoting Sicilian culture, has called upon some Palermo designers. THE Paladins of coffee by Morettino have a modern graphic design, inspired by Pop Art, but always faithful to the dictates of the iconography of the Pupari School of Palermo.
During the critical period of the quarantine, the Palermo company stood out for its proximity and concrete help for the Sicilian community and beyond. Among the initiatives to remember the laudable gesture of offer coffee to all medical staff of the Sicilian hospital wards (but also at the Policlinico of Milan) engaged in the fight against Covid-19. And, again, part of the proceeds from the campaign Morettino at your home (the delivery service which also includes free delivery for over 60s) was donated to the Policlinico of Palermo for the purchase of medical equipment.
The Gift Boxes are available on the Morettino online shop (shipping throughout Italy and worldwide) in new site just inaugurated.
