Grandpa's coffee recipe

Difficulty: easy
Preparation time: 20 minutes plus 1 hour of rest in the freezer

Ingredients for 6 people

70 ml of coffee
4 teaspoons of sugar
300 ml of cream for cakes

Method

Prepare the coffee with the moka or with the coffee pod machine. Pour it into a bowl and let it cool (you can put it in the fridge to speed up the time). Meanwhile, in another bowl, whip the cream after adding the sugar. When the cream begins to reach the desired consistency, pour the coffee all the way in, continuing to whisk it a little more, until a smooth and thick cream is obtained. Put the mixture in the freezer for 1 hour. After this time, take the coffee cream and mix well, but gently with a spatula, especially along the edges. Finally, take 6 small glasses and fill them with a spoon of coffee from the grandfather and serve at table, depending on the consistency, with a straw or a spoon.

variants

You can enrich the cream by adding other ingredients, such as the Nutella or a Coffee Liquor. And then there is the variant for children.

Nutella variant
Once the coffee has been poured into the bowl to cool, add 2 teaspoons of Nutella and stir until it has melted. Then let it cool. For the rest proceed as described above.

Variant with coffee liqueur
2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur or, if you prefer, whiskey cream can be added to the coffee to cool. For the rest follow the recipe.

Variant for children (and not only)
It has been said that Grandpa's coffee is (also) a dessert, right? And then, like any sweet (good) that respects itself, it can only please children. So, notwithstanding all the steps of the basic recipe (maybe in the variant with Nutella), to make it a treat for the little ones (or for those who have problems with caffeine) it will be enough to use coffee decaffeinated. And that's it.

How to present grandfather's coffee at the table

It is a known thing that, even before taste, it is with smell and sight that a food is "savored". And so it goes without saying that presenting a dish well is very important. Here are some suggestions.
Once the grandfather's coffee cups are filled, decorate the top of the cream with a coffee bean, or with a little whipped cream or a biscuit. If you prefer, you can pass a sprinkle of bitter cocoa. The idea of spreading a bit of Nutella on the edges of the glasses is also very tasty and of great visual effect. In short: a pinch of imagination is enough to amaze diners.

storage

Usually it never moves forward because guests ask for an encore or three of a kind.
Exaggeratedly good and irresistible, this cold coffee cream is brushed in no time at all! But if it happens that some remains, the advice is to put the coffee of the grandfather in the freezer. Or in the refrigerator, but in this case it must be consumed within a maximum of 4 days.
