Daiquiri recipe, the Caribbean cocktail


Daiquiri, the favorite drink of famous names like Ernest Hemingway and J.F. Kennedy, the Daiquiri evokes Cuban atmospheres like the town that gave it its name and was a "classic" served in speakeasy in many variations

  • 4 cl Planas Diplomatic rum (white rum)
  • 2 cl fresh lime juice
  • 1 cl sugar syrup
  • lime zest
  • ice

To prepare the Daiquiri cocktail, chill a cup by putting it in the freezer or by filling it with ice.
Gather in the ice shaker, rum, sugar syrup and lime juice, shake vigorously for no less than 10 seconds, open the shaker, remove the ice from the cup and strain the drink through a fine mesh strainer; decorated with curls of lime zest.

Serve with stuffed eggs
Firm the eggs, gently separate the yolks and mix them with mayonnaise, mustard, a pinch of salt and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Stuff the half egg whites with this sauce and complete them with crumbs of toasted bacon or salmon eggs, chives and some chervil leaves.
