Wash the potatoes under running water, put them in a saucepan, cover with plenty of water, bring to a boil and cook for about 40 minutes or until they are pretty soft, then drain, peel and mash them with a potato masher.
Put the potatoes in a non-stick pan with butter, salt, pepper, brown sugar and cream, mix everything, bring to a boil and cook until a pleasantly creamy consistency is obtained.
The mashed sweet potatoes is ready: serve it with a nice sprinkle of paprika and some pecans to decorate.
