It is cultivated in India and Pakistan and its name means "rich in fragrance". How to cook basmati rice
To cook Basmati rice properly you need to first rinse it with cold water to eliminate part of the starch, then it must be boiled using plenty of water: the water must be about twice the weight of the rice. Once cooked, the rice is lightly shelled with a fork before seasoning and serving.
Basmati rice: accompaniment or single dish
Basmati rice can be served simply boiled to accompany another dish, such as meat or fish, but also as the main ingredient if seasoned properly: in both cases we can obtain a single dish that provides carbohydrates, proteins and good fats.
