The chatter: the traditional recipe – Italian Cuisine


Thin and crunchy waffles, the chatter they are the most awaited dessert during the Carnival period and peek out from the stalls of pastry shops and bakeries one above the other, light, covered with a cloud of icing sugar. Although their names change from region to region, the characteristics of this dessert loved by all remain the same. Made in the oven or fried, they are often served with a dark chocolate cream. You can easily prepare them at home by following our advice in the tutorial.

To get about 100 pieces you will need: 500 g of flour plus a little, 130 g of milk, 50 g of melted butter, 50 g of icing sugar, 20 g of dry white wine, 20 g of white grappa, 2 egg yolks, lemon, peanut oil, salt. Happy Carnival!
