Rich in precious nutrients, it is considered a real superfood. Find out what benefits it has and why it is good for you

At the table there is more and more space for tropical fruit. Not only avocado, papaya, mango, but also other varieties such as the noni. It is the fruit of the Morinda Citrifolia also called Indian mulberry, an evergreen plant of the Rubiacee family that grows in tropical areas, particularly in Polynesia. Consumed for thousands of years in the areas of origin, this greenish colored fruit has become popular throughout the world not only for its particularly strong and pungent taste, but for its beneficial properties. In the areas where it is produced it is considered a real superfood. Its juice, also available in Italy in health food stores, is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and trace elements that are valuable for health.

Why consume it

From a nutritional point of view, noni is a concentrate of beneficial substances such as antioxidants that are useful for slowing down cellular aging and countering the harmful action of free radicals. For example, it contains large amounts of vitamin C, which are useful for strengthening the body's defenses and vitamin A, which is essential for healthy eyesight. It also provides vitamin B3 (also called niacin), which is valuable for healthy skin and many minerals. In particular, it is an excellent source of potassium, a mineral that promotes proper circulation and calcium, useful for bone health.
