Hoisin Sauce

Hoisin Sauce

by Pam on April 14, 2014

I was making an Asian themed dinner and realized the marinade for the chicken required hoisin sauce and of course I didn’t have any. Thankfully, the site I found the marinade recipe on, Up Close & Tasty[1], also had a hoisin sauce recipe[2] which I happened to have all of the ingredients for! It’s not a traditional hoisin sauce but it’s delicious just the same. This sauce can be used in marinades, sauces, vinaigrettes, and dips. Store the extra sauce in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

Combine the soy sauce, peanut butter, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and sriracha together in a bowl. Whisk until well combined. Set aside for 10-15 minutes before using to allow the flavors to combine.

Store remaining sauce in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
