Trifle: the ingredients

To prepare the trifle, here's what you need to get: 165 g of 00 flour, 165 g of butter, 200 g of milk, 130 g of whipped cream, 400 g of strawberries, 80 g of yolk, 265 g of sugar, 3 eggs , 8 g of instant yeast, 120 g of fresh cream, 1 sheet of gelatin, 150 ml of orange juice.

Trifle: the process

Let's start from Sponge Cake. To get it, take a bowl and whip the sugar with the butter at room temperature. When the mixture is soft, add the 3 eggs, one by one, and continue mixing. Add the flour by sieving it, together with the yeast, and continue mixing from the bottom up. Now, take a cake pan with a zipper, butter and flour it and pour into your mixture. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 45 minutes.

Now it is time to prepare the English cream. In a saucepan, pour the milk and fresh cream, bring almost to a boil. In a separate pan, mix the yolk and 60 g of sugar, then add the milk with the cream already heated. Move the pan over the heat and cook over low heat, stirring with a wooden spoon. Bring the temperature of the mixture to 82 ° C (use a kitchen thermometer). While it is cooking, let the gelatin sheet soak, ready to be combined, squeezed, with the cream removed from the heat. Mix everything well with a whisk and pour the cream into a bowl to cool it.

Now you have to prepare the strawberries: wash them, clean them and cut them into pieces. Pour them into a pan, add 40 g of sugar and orange juice, cook over medium heat for about ten minutes.
Meanwhile, remove the cake from the oven, let it cool down, cut it into slices of about 1 cm and a half and then cut each slice into 4 pieces.
Take the cup or glass and start composing the trifle: wet each piece of cake in the strawberry compote, to make it wet, and place the bottom layer. Put a layer of strawberry compote, then a layer of cream and repeat for two other identical layers.
Decorate with a layer of whipped cream and refrigerate for another two hours to cool.
