First, never buy them out of season. Strawberries are a spring fruit and those grown in a greenhouse have a completely different flavor.
And then, pay attention to the color! They must be red with the stalk well attached and they must not have dents. Make sure that they are not inside the basket fruits with mold because they would very easily ruin everyone else.

Savory ideas with strawberries

For a fresh and light lunch break add a few strawberries to one simple green salad and parmesan flakes. Season everything with a drizzle of EVO oil, a few drops of balsamic vinegar and a pinch of salt and pepper and you're done.
Strawberries, as already mentioned, are very good with tasty cheeses, especially with soft ones. Try them in combination with the caprine, maybe on a slice of toasted bread, or even with the quartirolo if you love daring combinations of completely different flavors.

Puff pastry recipe with yogurt and strawberries


  • 340 g Greek yogurt
  • 280 g puff pastry
  • 250 g strawberries
  • 15 g sliced ​​almonds
  • vanilla icing sugar
  • lemon

For the recipe of puff pastry with yogurt and strawberries, cut 4 puffs of about 12 cm in diameter from the puff pastry and puncture them in the center.
