In Milan the mural that purifies the air

The anti-smog mural by street artist Iena Cruz arrived in Milan to clean up the air and raise awareness of environmental emergencies that threaten our planet

Is called Anthropoceano and will help purify the air of Milan. The anti-smog mural of the street artist Iena Cruz, realized in collaboration with Worldrise Onlus and financed by Ocean Family Foundation and North Sail, extends on the facade of a building in via Viotti, near the station of Lambrate.

How does it work? The work is made with a special paint called Airlite, which through the action of light is able to reduce pollution in the air, eliminating up to 88% of nitrogen oxides, benzene and formaldehyde.

Anthropoceano represents an oil platform that looks like a plastic bottle, inside which some sea creatures, such as a shark and a whale, are trapped. Its purpose is twofold: while it acts as a natural purifier, the mural also aims to raise awareness about the impact of plastic on the seas, starting from its origin up to the consequences it has on nature and animals.
