Peppa Pig wants to fill the world with new forests of fruit trees – Italian Cuisine

In collaboration with the Treedom portal, the tender cartoon piglet aims to create new forests of fruit trees, the Peppa Pig Forest. Here's how to contribute personally with a simple "like" on social media

A signed forest Peppa Pig. No, it's not the plot of some spin-off of the most iconic preschool cartoon of the last twenty years, but an interesting initiative ready to take the big step from the small screen to the real world: the most famous pig in the world of animation has indeed joined forces with Treedom, the portal that allows you to plant trees and follow them online in their development. Objective: to create many small ones Peppa Pig Forest, and disseminate precious fruit trees around the world.

The initiative, which aims to directly finance agricultural communities, while promoting the planet's biodiversity, at least for this first phase, reaches 250 trees, between avocado, cocoa, coffee, lemon and papaya, to be planted in Kenya, Cameroon, Madagascar and Guatemala. To contribute personally to the Peppa forest, simply go to the cartoon Facebook page, OfficialPeppaPigItaly, and leave a I like it to the post dedicated to the #PeppaPigForest campaign: for every 100 likes collected between now and the end of August, a tree will be planted. By clicking on the portal Treedom in addition, the type and destination of the various fruit trees can also be chosen, suggesting a first name for them.

The imaginary world of the little piglet and her animal friends, on the other hand, has always been somewhat attentive to the issues of environment protection. In the eighth season of the cartoon, aired in Italy since last April, several episodes related to sustainability, designed to explain to the smallest fundamental – and not simple – topics such as the importance of renewable energy, the beauty of green mobility and the whole process related to waste recycling. The Peppa Pig Forest are therefore a completely natural continuation of this mission that began on the screen: a small, but significant, step forward to safeguard life on our planet. With lots of lemons, coffee and side avocado.

Recipe Rifle’s Christmas message

I would say it had been a joyous year, but it hasn’t. I mean, not especially. I would say that it has been an eventful year, but it hasn’t. I would say that it has been an annus horribilis, but it hasn’t been that either.

It’s just been one of those years that goes from one month to the next. I have spent it mostly wiping down an Ikea highchair, opening the door to the Ocado man and marvelling at that thing where you spend 20 minutes tidying the kitchen only for it to still look like a fucking bombsite.

And it’s been a year of TV suppers, eating off our knees in our 1.5 hour telly and dinner watching slot before our eyes glaze over and we can’t concentrate and we simply must, must, must go to bed before we fall down. I have slumped entirely out of the habit of cooking for more than two people. We spent months and thousands on a kitchen extension only for us to have 3 dinner parties in 7 months. But Kitty likes it.

What of Kitty? She is a child now, almost no longer a toddler – though still toddlerish to her destructive habits, lack of reason, lack of responsiveness to bribery but she is at least old enough to sit quietly on the sofa watching Peppa Pig for nine hours.

So Merry Christmas, then. See you in the New Year. I’ve got a bread and butter pudding to tell you about and also a chicken, pork and apricot raised pie – if it works out.
