The three foundations of the Carlsberg family – Carlsberg, New Carlsberg is Tuborg – offer their support for the fight against coronavirus (COVID-19) with the donation of 95 million Danish crowns, or approximately 13 million euros. A donation that will cover various sectors, from scientific research to the world of art.

Donations from the Carlsberg Foundation will fund 3 projects scientific research on Covid-19: the first 8 million euros will support the search for new diagnostic methods, treatment is prevention of the virus to manage the epidemic and to give the world a chance to be ready in the event of future epidemics. The research will be conducted by a scientific group of internationally renowned Virology researchers in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen, the University of Aarhus and the Serum Institute.
A second donation will be dedicated to understanding, also through thebig data analysis, the impact of our choices on the evolution of the virus. The study will be conducted by a group of social and humanities researchers in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen, the University of Aarhus and the Danish Polytechnic.
The third part of the donation will help develop analysis models to understand how and why a virus can turn into a global epidemic, from formation to disappearance, or how it becomes part of seasonal diseases. The research will be conducted by an interdisciplinary team at the University of Roskilde.

4 million euros also from the New Carlsberg Foundation, to support in Denmark i museums affected by the crisis through the activation of programs that will allow them to attract visitors when they reopen.

800 thousand euros from the Tuborg Foundation, which supports the commitment of Young people for a sustainable future, to a pool of emergency professionals in youth organizations to launch activities to support people affected by COVID-19. The Foundation will also monitor the need to support businesses affected by the pandemic, such as the music venues that have always been supported by the Tuborg Foundation.
