Turkey meatloaf with cranberry sauce: taste and refinement

In the meantime, prepare the cranberry sauce: cook the cranberries with sugar and water in a pan over low heat until you obtain a thick consistency. Then blend with a blender and pass it through a fine mesh strainer to remove all the blueberry seeds. If necessary, cook it in the pan for a few more minutes to thicken it further.

Once ready, slice the meatloaf and serve the slices by generously pouring the cranberry sauce.

There cranberry sauce it is an excellent accompaniment to meats and cheeses, but it is so good that in my opinion you can also eat it on bread, just as if it were a normal jam. Of course, compared to any jam it has the addition of port, so maybe it's not really suitable for breakfast … but after all the alcohol evaporates during cooking, so you could also try;) Seriously, if even you appreciate the combination of the famous Ikea meatballs with their cranberry jam, you must absolutely try to replicate this sauce, very used in America to accompany turkey in the Thanksgiving Day (is the famous cranberry sauce), and which you can of course serve with any Sunday roast;)

Wash the blueberries, peel them and put them in a saucepan with sugar, honey, port and orange juice and peel.

Bring to a boil and cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

The cranberry sauce is ready: serve it at room temperature.

Spiced Cranberry Sauce

Spiced Cranberry Sauce

by Pam on November 17, 2013

I made an early Thanksgiving meal today. My daughter helped me in the kitchen for a few of the recipes and it was so much fun cooking with her! She prepared this cranberry sauce we found at MyRecipes[1] all by herself. It was easy to make, smelled fantastic while it simmered, and tasted wonderful. The spices added a nice flavor to this sauce and really made it taste extra special.

Remove the zest from the oranges; set aside. Rinse the cranberries in a strainer.

Combine the sugar, orange juice, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and cranberries to a saucepan then bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low then cook 10-12 minutes or until cranberries pop. Remove from heat; stir in zest. Cool completely. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
