Houses and distilleries, the same spirit

Each of the Diageo distilleries in Scotland represents, just like the houses of the continent of Westeros, unique and distinctive characteristics of its territory. For example, the coupled Targaryen- Cardhu Gold Reserve is characterized by the female leadership spirit of Daenerys Targaryen: the Cardhu distillery, in fact, was founded by Helen Cumming and her daughter-in-law Elizabeth in 1800, a period when the whiskey industry was almost entirely in the hands of men. And again, the combination between the house Baratheon and Royal Lochnagar aged 12 years: as Robert Baratheon who ruled all Seven Kingdoms on the Iron Throne, the Royal Lochnagar was considered a whiskey worthy of a royal family: he had been granted a Royal Warrant after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert visited the distillery in 1848.
