Street art against violence and racism: here are the graffiti that erase hate messages celebrating the kitchen
Swastikas, Celtic crosses and hate messages turn into pieces of cheese, cupcakes and pasta and beans. To do this "magic" is Pier Paolo Spinazzè, known by the name of art of Food, a Venetian street artist who covers the symbols of political extremism with colorful murals with a gastronomic theme.
Cibo was born in 2008, right in his Verona, to fight the writing with imagination vulgar and the symbols unconstitutional, taking care of the city in his own way. Shortly after having painted them, it often happens that his murals are targeted several times and that they are covered again with messages of hatred. This is how true and real are born recipes: every time the drawings are ruined, Cibo adds a new ingredient, to the point of discouraging the vandals and creating a complete recipe.
Cibo has been in business for some time, has traveled all over Italy and Europe, but today it returns to discuss due to the difficulties encountered during one of his last works at Bussolengo, in the province of Verona. There, he was invited by police to interrupt a mural and now he risks one complaint. The administration has stressed that smearing the walls of the city remains a crime and that it will be her to deal with the cancellation of violent graffiti.
Cibo commented on Instagram: "I am happy that the administration has PROMISED the cancellation of the symbols of hatred (it would be their task in theory), but I will be even happier when it WILL KEEP THE PROMISE … We will see, my mandate is for life!.
