The ocean in Milan – Italian Cuisine – Italian Cuisine

The ocean in Milan - Italian Cuisine

From 3 to 6 June the Columns of San Lorenzo in Milan host a symbolic and sustainable fishing organized by the Marine Stewardship Council (which invites us to take a bath of awareness)

The sea is a carpet of blue thoughts that flow between the Columns of San Lorenzo in Milan to remind us that the well-being of the ocean is ours. The Marine Stewardship Council in the World Oceans Day week brought the blue of the ocean to the city center to allow citizens to take a dreamy break from the usual frenetic rhythms and learn more about our oceans and get closer to the small-big revolutions that can bring to their health. One of the funniest moments of the initiative, active from 3 to 6 June, will be when on Thursday the guests will be involved in a very particular fishing. In fact, they will not find fish, but design objects signed by Geppetta and Salvabarche (two artists who use recycled materials from litter abandoned on the beaches and parts of old abandoned boats). However, only fish can be brought home with blue mark MSC to immediately explain the concept of sustainable fishing.

The blue MSC brand

The Immerse yourself in the blue event is an invitation to get closer to the ocean, its problems and its resources. Among the initiatives promoted by MSC, a labeling and certification program that recognizes and rewards sustainable fishing practices. The consumer is called to a new responsibility: choosing certified products in fact means generating the demand and supply mechanism that leads companies in the fishing sector to operate in a sustainable way. And it seems that information is bearing fruit. It appears that the consumption of sustainable fish products is increasing in Italy. 78% of habitual consumers know that buying fish products from a sustainable and certified source contributes to the health of the oceans (also in view of consumption by future generations). The increasing demand has already brought a 60% increase in a year on the shelves of our MSC blue brand fish markets.

#Stavoltamituffo

The highlight will be in Milan, but everyone is invited to participate even from a distance by sharing their commitment on social media. With the hashtag #stavoltamituffo we are called to talk about our relationship with the sea (even if we are in the city). All you need is a mask and a snorkel and … shoot!
