It's over Vinitaly 2019, the 53rd edition of the most important Italian wine fair, with 125,000 arrivals from 145 countries and 4,600 participating companies. Waiting for the 54th Vinitaly, which will be held in Verona from 19 to 22 April, here are the wine events not to be missed in Italy.
Southern Roots – 4-10 June
The 14th salon dedicated to southern wines and oils is staged at the Norman Swabian castle of Sannicandro (BA): conferences, wine tours, competitions and tastings to learn more about producers in Puglia, Campania, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily. The salon is open to the public on June 10th, with tasting counters, where it is possible to taste and buy the typical food and wine products of Southern Italy.

Roséxpo – June 22-23
At the Carlo V castle in Lecce, the sixth edition of the International Rose Wine Show is staged, offering the possibility of tasting rose wines from all over the world, including tasting and masterclasses.

Milan Wine Week – 6-13 October 2019

Autochtona – 14-15 October 2019

Merano Wine Festival – 8-12 November
Since 1992, in the historic Kurhaus of Merano, but also in other locations in the city center, it is the most elegant wine event in Italy, which offers the chance to taste the greatest Italian and foreign labels, even of old vintages. In addition to the Official Selection, which includes about 950 companies, there are interesting satellite events, from bio & dynamics, with a selection of organic wines, to the Catwalk Champagne, up to "outside Merano" with The Circle, which hosts shows, debates and show cooking.

Wine Market – November 23-24
In Piacenza, the number 9 edition of the Fivi Wine Market, the Federation of Independent Winegrowers which includes over a thousand members, is staged. In a relaxed atmosphere, you can taste the wines with the producers, stock up on bottles and participate in in-depth moments, with verticals and themes that are always different and stimulating. And to break the hunger, there is the part dedicated to food artisans, about twenty producers with typical delicacies from all over Italy.

Not Rassegna dei Vini Franchi – January
The small artisan winemakers are present with their banquets at the Cantieri Culturali della Zisa in Palermo.
