the best places near the A-series stadiums – Italian Cuisine

the best places near the A-series stadiums

Around the top football arenas there are not only dubious food trucks and street food. From Udine to Lecce, here are the places to take a gourmet break during the matches. But even when you don't play …

But before and after the game? Do you have to be satisfied with the classic beer & salamella at the food truck or the kebab in some little place near the stadium? We can, we would miss it (but don't spend it, a little eh). But many ignore that in the vicinity of the major Italian stadiums there are good places, often reachable on foot or in any case in a few minutes by car. Clubs that obviously offer the best when not played, as they are inevitably less crowded and the service more attentive. But should be kept in mind by enthusiasts because with the soccer stew, you play at times that allow you to eat comfortably seated at lunch or dinner. Sometimes with pleasant surprises. Here are our recommendations.

Bistrot 64 – Rome

It is one of the cheapest Michelin stars in Italy, led by Kotaro Noda: Japanese in love with Italy, with great experiences, has created a striking neo bistrot about twenty minutes from the Olimpico. Menu full of good dishes, with the series of the first "of the tradition" that immediately conquer. Tasting (recommended) with five dishes at 50 euros.

The Essence Restaurant – Reggio Emilia

Sassuolo plays in the Mapei stadium of the Emilian city. At ten minutes walk there is this all you can eat of quality – housed in a modern and colorful environment – dedicated to Italian cuisine, with chefs preparing the first courses and meat at the moment. There is no lack of theme dinners.

Trattoria Bertozzi – Bologna

One of the most popular taverns in the city is ten minutes from the stadium. Lively atmosphere, great hospitality, but above all total respect for the Emilian cuisine: tortellini, tortelloni, tagliatelle – strictly by hand – braised and the inevitable Petroniana cutlet. You drink well.

Caffè Miro – Lecce

The stadium of the newly promoted Salento is quite far from the center. A reliable destination – a quarter of an hour walk from the arena – is represented by this cafe-pizzeria. In winter you eat in a large room while in summer there are tables outside. Competitive prices.

Piedigrotta – Genoa

Establishment near the Marassi stadium, also frequented by footballers. A safe haven to enjoy the cuisine of Campania – the menu is very rich, especially with first courses and fish-based dishes – and a series of good pizzas, even with wholemeal dough.

Den Pub – Verona

A pub that quickly won over local fans, visiting fans and the city's foreign community. Always lively atmosphere, great passion for sport and lots of beers, even on tap, to accompany food. It is very close to the Bentegodi stadium, better than that …

DeGusto Birra & Cucina – Bergamo

The insignia makes the idea very well: to combine the international (and good-quality) street food with a carefully crafted proposal that spans the world, on tap and in the bottle. The simple and well-run restaurant is located six minutes from the Atalanta stadium.

From Noemi – Ferrara

It is the tavern of the historic center – 15 minutes from the Spal stadium – which bears the name of the founder and where you immediately feel at home. The daughter holds the coat of arms with the cold cuts and cheeses as well as the traditional classics such as pumpkin cappellacci. Enjoyable wine cellar.

4 Mori al Mare – Cagliari

Good choice for those who before and after the game at the Sardegna Arena – a quarter of an hour away by car – want to enjoy good fish, in a historic venue, but with new management. Simple recipes, but with a very fresh product. Cult dish: orziadas spaghetti and clams.

Lanzani Laboratory – Brescia

Curiously, the other local of the group – Lanzani Bottega & Bistrot – is more or less the same distance from Mompiano, but from the opposite side: ten minutes by car. This is more recent, of design and trend. But there is so much substance in food. And a superb wine cellar.

Simply diVino – Udine

Near the Dacia Arena – five minutes by car and half an hour on foot – it is the most suitable place for a stopover. An osteria-wine shop, not linked to the territory, where the meat is the protagonist – Fiorentina in the first place – like the fresh pasta and desserts of the house.

Gelateria Pasticceria Badiani – Florence

Let's go against the current. Florence is full of good taverns for fans, but when you discover that one of the best ice cream parlors in Italy – where you can also have lunch – is five minutes walk from the Franchi stadium, how can you not recommend a stop?

Fratelli Cafasso – Naples

Having said that around the San Paolo there is a very rich offer of street food, it is always nice to sit in one of the historic pizzerias in Naples. It takes just ten minutes on foot to enjoy the specialties of the house: Bufalina, Margherita, Calzone di scarola, Pizza with seafood.

Once upon a time in Turin – Turin

Ten minutes by car from the Stadio Grande Torino and you arrive in this restaurant – which is celebrating 50 years of activity – where the scene is occupied by Piedmontese cuisine and throughout the year you will find bagna caoda, mixed boiled and mixed fried (not that of fish eh …)

Parizzi Restaurant – Parma

Recommended for those who are gourmet supporters: it is the oldest star of Parma, but with an absolutely modern kitchen. Refined atmosphere, try the two tasting at 70 euros. And then it is practically in the center, despite arriving from the Tardini in just ten minutes.

Trattoria alle Lavagne – Turin

The city of the Mole is the only one to have a stadium for every team of A. The Juventus Allianz Stadium is rather secluded: the nearest place, worthy of a stop, is this tavern where traditional and local dishes are served at competitive prices

La Pesa Trattoria 1902 – Milan

Thanks to the Lilla metro line, from the Meazza you can quickly reach areas rich in local. For those who want to stay near the stadium, the Lombard dishes of this institution of the San Siro district – 15 minutes walk from the temple of football – remain a valid attraction.
