For the recipe of the romantic Moscato cake with cream and strawberries, whisk the egg whites with 50 g of caster sugar. Work the butter with the electric whisk until it is foamy, then add the egg yolks, one at a time, 100 g of granulated sugar, the flour and the starch, sifted, the grated peel of 1/2 lemon, finally incorporated the egg whites, with delicacy, not to take them apart.
Lined with baking paper a baking sheet (ours is octagonal, ø 18-20 cm), pour the dough and bake at 180 ° C for 30 '. Prepare a syrup with 50 g of water and 50 g of caster sugar; let it cool, then add the Moscato (bagna).
Whip the cream with the vanilla seeds and the icing sugar. Peel the strawberries, keep aside the most beautiful to garnish and cut the others into small pieces.
