It was a day in May 1994 when Gino Strada, a medical profession, and his teacher wife Teresa founded the NGO Emergency. Since then, the humanitarian association has treated 10 million people in 18 countries around the world. In this era of COVID-19, Emergency further activated itself in Italy by working for the setting up of the field hospital in Bergamo (in which the Cerea brothers also participated), as well as in Brescia, Piacenza and in the clinics specially set up throughout Italy.
