#Milanononsiferma and bring the restaurants home – Italian Cuisine

The Milanese are more at home, but not for this they renounce the risotto with ossobuco and gastronomic experiments. Did they start cooking? Some yes, others order at home, and bring their favorite restaurants directly to the house

A pizza arrives in about twenty minutes, a dinner in forty, spending at home takes two hours at most and even bread, cakes and pastries can now ring directly at the door. The logistics of our lives are changing from year to year, but with the latest vicissitudes, even faster. Milan does not stop, even in the face of the Covid-19 coronavirus, and has set delivery services in motion.

Food delivery in the time of Coronavirus

2019 had been the year of food delivery with a true double-digit expansion of the sector. Only the Just Eat platform had found + 30% of partner restaurants compared to the previous year and satisfaction for growth has affected all similar services at national level, such as Glovo, Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Ordering lunch, dinner (but even snacks, breakfast and cocktails) at home is no longer something extraordinary, and in large cities like Milan it has become a habit and – fortunately – many restaurateurs are well equipped for the service.
With the Coronavirus emergency, has the desire for home delivery grown? To date there is no data, so much so that Deliveroo does not release hasty statistics and does not launch into speculative press releases. What is certain is that with thousands of workers in smart working, fewer lunch breaks, cinemas, theaters and closed schools and invitations to limit sociality, one ends up staying more at home and less at the restaurant. And here delivery becomes the solution, for customers and restaurateurs, to defeat the crisis.

With Foorban, Uber Eats and Glovo, Deliveroo is also part, together with the restaurateurs, of the Union of the Brands of Italian Catering, a temporary association which today represents about 1000 catering activities for a total of about 10 thousand workers in the territory, and which it has moved to promote Milan and its vitality against the alarmism and fear that is instead penalizing the locals of the city. They are the ones who made the video #Milanononsiferma, which has become viral and reposted also by the mayor Beppe Sala. The restaurants are open, life must go on, whether you eat in the living room or along the Navigli, it doesn't matter.

Milan doesn't stop. The people of Milan do not give up eating well, choosing trendy places, trying new kitchens or meeting with friends. Lately he's just doing it more at home.
Here then is our selection of restaurants that also deliver at home, from bread to champagne, from oysters to yellow risotto with ossobuco; the best in their category and those who perhaps did not know that they could also serve you in your kitchen.
