How to choose the right licorice

First, get yourself some high quality licorice.
In some recipes you will find the powder which, however, is not easy to find on the market, but we suggest the pure liquorice in tablets, sticks or sticks. The roots are not good.
Pure licorice is the dark, hard and very intense taste that you also find packaged or sold in bulk in herbal shops and natural products stores. Many candy stalls in the city markets also have the purest liquorice, but try it before buying it because very often it is not very tasty.

Which alcohol to use

The alcohol for making homemade liqueurs is that 95% which is easily found in all supermarkets.
Always remember that it should be mixed with one sugar-based syrup and then with the basic ingredient.
In many preparations with herbs, fruits and spices the ingredients are left to infuse in alcohol for days to disperse all their flavor.

Liquorice liqueur

Prepare this fresh and digestive drink for you and your friends. The process is really very simple.
Jumbled up 100 g of pure licorice with 600 ml of water and wait for it to melt completely. It will take about 48 hours.
You mix the mixture from time to time.
Then prepare a syrup with 1 kg of sugar and 600 ml of water and melt the sugar keeping the heat very low.
Once cold, mix the syrup with the licorice concentrate and then add 1 liter of 95% alcohol.
Pour the liqueur into the bottles e wait a few weeks before consuming it.
Keep in the fridge or freezer and serve cold.
