Homemade Mikado – Italian Cuisine

»Homemade Mikado

First, sift flour, starch and baking soda in a bowl, add sugar, butter and milk to the center and mix until a smooth and soft dough is obtained.
Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

Then take back the dough and roll it out in a very thin sheet, from which you have to obtain a 12-15 cm long quadratilateral.

Then cut thin strips, about 0.5 cm wide, then roll the strips between your hands (or between your hands and the work surface) to obtain rounded sticks.
Place the sticks on the baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes in a static preheated oven at 180 ° C.

Take the sticks out of the oven and let them cool, then melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a bain-marie, in a narrow and long container, and dip the sticks inside for at least 2/3 of the length.
Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper and leave to solidify for 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Homemade mikado are ready, you just have to enjoy them!
