5 seconds for children


Meat, fish or eggs does not matter: the second in the summer must be light and appetizing so that children can eat it willingly. Maybe combining it with some vegetables

"Children come back to the table which is the second one!" Who has never heard this call of the mother? To avoid tantrums and scoldings, the latter must really know how to enthrall puppies. Or he must be the only protagonist on the table: nothing first, but only a side dish (betting on potatoes is always a good idea) and a nice fruit salad. Obviously the usual rules apply: the meat must be tender, free of fat and "nerves", while perfectly clean fish and barbed. Always bearing in mind that the best "trick" is to support (at least in part) the child's preferences.

Stuffed courgettes

Prepare a filling by mixing 300 g of minced veal with 100 g of sausage, 100 g of mortadella from Bologna, an egg yolk, breadcrumbs and grated parmesan. Wash the courgettes and boil them for about ten minutes, then cut them in half and dig them like a boat. Add the pulp to the stuffing and fill the zucchini with the mixture. Bake in a hot oven at 180 ° C for about half an hour, season with a little oil. You can also prepare this way other vegetables.

Like a fish and chips

The anchovies they are good for children. And if they are golden and crunchy they are irresistible. They go open to book, gutted, boned and washed, then rolled in flour. At this point they are browned in a non-stick pan greased with a film of oil. And the fries? If we don't want to fry them, we can cut them anyway matchstick potatoes, boil them in water boiling, drain them, dry them well and finish cooking in a hot oven, after dressing them with a little oil: they will still be golden and crispy.

Jelly rolls

The loin slicesthin, they must be spread on the cutting board; on each one there is a slice of mortadella and a bit of Emmenthal, then roll up to stop the rolls. Cook in a pan with a knob of butter. Cooked and cold, the rolls should be transferred to a pan and covered with gelatin, to be prepared with a special nut, used according to the instructions. In the pan you can also add chopped vegetables, to give color to the dish.

Baked omelette with vegetables

Cook the chopped vegetables in a pan with a little oil: potatoes, onions, courgettes, aubergines… when cooked they add the diced ham. Beat the eggs in a bowl (one per person) with a little salt and add the filling. Pour the mixture into an oiled baking pan and cook at 180 ° C for about 40 minutes.

Sole turbans

Cut into quarters for the long 4 ripe perini tomatoes; fillet (or get caught by the fishmonger) 4 sole, making sure there are no bones in the pulp. Wrap a fillet around a tomato stick, then stop the turbans with a toothpick. Arrange them in an oven dish, season with oil, salt and basil leaves and cook at 180 ° C for about 15 minutes.
